Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has formed a strategic partnership with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to drive the development of technologies that integrate manned and unmanned aircraft in the military operations of the United States and its allies.
The initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of MUM-T systems, which combine autonomous and piloted platforms for combat missions.
The agreement combines Kratos’ experience in producing tactical drones, such as the XQ-58A Valkyrie, with KAI’s aerospace expertise. The goal is to create more affordable, scalable defense solutions with a high level of interoperability, thereby enhancing operational flexibility in increasingly complex scenarios. The two companies plan to cooperate in areas such as research, development, production, and future exports.
Kratos emphasizes that the use of autonomous aircraft has been gaining prominence in U.S. Air Force testing, especially in projects involving artificial intelligence drones working alongside piloted fighter jets. The partnership with KAI follows this trend and expands both companies’ commitment to strengthening technological capabilities and industrial cooperation between allied nations.
